When it's finals week

One more week stands between you and winter break. One week that might be the longest in the entire year. Time ticks away both incredibly slow and excessively fast at the same exact time. There are not enough hours in the day, yet you would do almost anything to fast forward to the next week.

The thought of having to write another paper makes your head feel as if it could explode. If you have to write one more note card, your hand might literally fall off. So much rides on your performance on these last few papers, presentations, and exams. You spent all semester preparing for this, yet this one week might just get the best of you.

Except finals week cannot destroy you unless you allow it to. So don’t let it. Don’t fall into its trap. Take a deep breath, drink lots of caffeine, and pray.

Pray that God gives you the strength to keep going when you and your fellow classmates want to give up. Pray that he gives you peace when your mind is filled with anxiety. Pray that you are able to accept the results of every assignment and move on (that's a tough one for me). But most importantly, give thanks.

Thank God for carrying you through another semester of college. Thank him for creating whoever invented coffee. And thank him for allowing you the opportunity to pursue an education in the first place.

Believe it or not, it is a blessing to be able to experience finals week at all. Even though it might not feel like it, education is a privilege that we so often take for granted. Drowning in assignments might not seem like a blessing at first, but we must keep in mind that not everyone in the world has access to higher education.

And when the chaos of finals week starts to get the best of you, remember:

“Your GPA won’t matter in heaven.” God will still love you enough if you lose that 4.0 .

“If you don’t know it by midnight, you just don’t know it." GO TO BED!

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

Good luck & God Bless!
