When it's your last semester

Updated: Jun 9, 2019

This is it, the last semester of school. This could be your senior year of high school, sophomore year of junior college, final year of an academic program, or last semester of undergrad/grad school. Regardless of your situation, you are so close to your goal. So many emotions run through your brain. It is a mixture of excitement, anxiety, joy, and fatigue.

You can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The end is both so close and yet still so far. In order to make it, you have to get through this last semester. Just a few months stand between you and graduation. This last semester will test you and your classmates. You will definitely want to quit at times. But you are so close- to your goal, to your future. You cannot give up now.

As your final semester closes in, take a few moments to reflect. Reflect on the journey from the very beginning up until now. The struggles, victories, heartaches, and triumphs in combination have led you to this moment. Thank God for every high and every low because even the hard times have shaped you into the person you are today.

The moment you have been awaiting for so long is almost here. Let the fantasy of graduation be a motivation for you to keep going. Picture it in your mind when things start to get tough. You must keep going even when it is hard, even when you want to quit, and even when your body and mind are absorbed with fatigue. You have to keep going.

Do it for everyone who said you couldn’t. Do it for everyone who motivated you along the way. Do it for everyone who taught you something during the process. Do it for every time your mind has its doubts. But above all else, do it for the one who gave you the ability to do so in the first place.

You did not come this far to give up now. God has not guided you through this journey without leading you to his planned destination. Pray that he will continue to provide you and your classmates with the strength to finish strong. Because even though it is you driving the car toward your dreams, it is God who started and gave power to the ignition.

Remember:

“It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.”

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
